& MOULD CHINA '98
The
7th Internatkonal Exhibition on Die & Mould Technology and Equipment
Hosted
by China Die & Mould Industry Association (CDMA) and China Council
for the Promotion of International Trade Shanghai Sub-Council, and organized
by CDMA and Shanghai International. Exhibition Corporation (SIEC), Die
& Mould China '98 was held in INTEX Shanghai, 5-9 May 1998. It was
one of the exhibitions recognized by Union des Foires International's (UFI),
and had the support form the State Administration of Machinery Industry,
People's Republic of China,China Aerospace Industry Corporation, China
Electronics Corporation and China National Automotive Industry Corporation.
405 exhibiting companies, including 113 companies from foreign countries,
Hong Kong Special Administrative Region and Taiwan Province participated
in Die & Mould China '98 with a total exhibition area of 13,000 sq.,
They dips ayed 190 machine tools, including 104 machine tools from foreign
countries, Hong Kong Special Administrative Region and Taiwan Province.
The exhibiting companies came from 15 countries and regions-Canada, France,
Germany, Italy, Japan, Korea, Russia, Spain, Switzerland, the U.K., the
U.S.A., Yugoslavia, China, Taiwan Province and Hong Kong Special Administrative
Region. The Chinese exhibitors came from 17 provinces, municipalities and
autonomous regions. Durng the exhibition, the organizers held 14 technical
seminars at INTEX Shanghai, which were attended by 800 listeners. During
the live days of show period, the exhibition registered 72,000 visitors.
It also recorded a number of overseas visitors, e.g. a Belgium delegation
of 18 members and a team of 30 members from Taiwan die & mould industry
visited Die & Mould China '98. The sales of the exhibits amounted to
USD5.007 million, of which CNYH million were from the sales of Chinese
exhibits. The transacted value of foreign exhibits constituted 48.3% of
the quotations of all foreign exhibits.
The
VIPs present at the opening ceremony of Die & Mould China '98 were
Mr. Yang Keng, Chairman of CDMA, Mr Yu Yunpo, Vice-Chairman of Shanghai
Municipal Committec of Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference,
Mr Yang Zhihua, Chairman of China Council for the Promotion of International
Trade Shanghai Sub-Council, all the delegates attending the Enlarged Meeting
of the Third Session of the Fourth Executive Director Conference of CDMA,
leaders from the co-organizers and supporters, officials from relevant
commissions, offices of Shanghai Municipal Government, and journalists
from the press. Also present at the opening ceremony were Mr Kim Hak Kwon,
President of Korea Die & Mould Industry Cooperative and the delegation
he led, diplomats from the consulates general of Yugoslavia, the U.S.A.,
the U.K. and France, represcntatives from Japan External Trade Organization
and Korea Trade Promotion Corp.

During
the exhibition, CDMA convened the Enlarged Meeting of the Third Session
of the Fourth Executive Director Conference, held meetings on technical
exchange and economic cooperation Chinese and Korean die & mould industries.
The Technical Committec of CNMA organized technical seminars. CNMA led
Chinese experts to evaluate and appraise the dies, moulds, die processing
equipment and modernized manufacturing technology of dies & moulds
displayed at the exhibition.
Many
famous companies participated in this exhibition. Companies that design
and manufacture equipment were:Brown & Sharpe Tesa, Cincinnati Milacron
International Company, Haas Automation Inc. from the U.S.A., Makino Milling
Machine Co. Ltd., Mitsubishi, Sodik Co. Ltd., from Japan, Renishaw Ltd.,
Delcam Ple. From the U.K., Agie Industrial Electronics, Charmilles Technologies
Sa. and Micron AG from Switzerland. As die & mould manufacturers, Germany
Kramski Ltd., R. Bourgeois of France, Oberg Industries, Inc. of the U.S.A.
displayed their high-standard products. Germany Kramski Ltd, was one of
the top five manufacturers of dies & moulds in Germany. The main features
of the high-performance stamping dies were: 1. Best design with aluminum
reducers and module pieces, therefore light in weight and quick and casy
in tepair; 2. Long tool life, long service life between two sharpenings
(approximately 40 million strokes); and 3. Extraordinary performance, during
the stamping process, mounting, welding, riveting are possible with 100%
electronic control.

this exhibition, ten companies and universities displayed rapid forming
technique and prototyping manufacturing technology (RPM), of which Model
¢ò multi-functional laser rapid prototyping manufacturing system
(M-RPMS-¢ò) MADE BY Qinghua University was the most remarkable.
The dieless multi-point forming technology of Roll Forging Institute of
Jilin University of Technology was internationally advanced technology.
The simple moulds made with resin by Die & Mould Manufacturing Ltd.Co.
FAW was used in the prototype stampings of all-new Red-Flay car, which
pioneered the way in test manufacturing ears. Plastic mould for three-coloured
lampshade in one forming was displayed for the first time by Zhejiang Huangyan
Mould & Plastics, Ltd. B35 CNC Electrical Discharge Machine made by
Beijing Dimeng Mechanical & Electrical Net Tech Co. in cooperation
with Sodik Co.Ltd. of Japan, reached international level. In terms of the
number of exhibitors, the quality of exhibits, the total exhibition area,
the standard of the show and the qualities of the visitors, Die & Mould
China '98 was the most influential exhibition of the largest scale and
the highest standard in the die & mould industry in China. |
